Autism linked to nearly 14-year shorter life expectancy among Medicaid beneficiaries

A new study finds autistic people enrolled in Medicaid live nearly 14 years less on average than the general U.S. population. Researchers say much of the gap comes from preventable deaths, including infections, malnutrition, and fatal accidents.
