Google’s public SynthID Detector checks JPG, PNG, MP4 and MP3 files for invisible watermarks used by Google, OpenAI, Nvidia and Kakao. Google says more than 180 billion images and videos carry SynthID, but the tool cannot identify AI-generated media lacking its watermark.
