Global Bond Sell-Off Pushes UK Long-Term Borrowing Costs Above 6%

Britain’s 30-year bond yield reached 6% for the first time since 1998 as fears over the US deficit, restricted Middle Eastern oil supplies and renewed inflation drove a global sell-off. London shares fell 1.7%, while Germany’s Dax and France’s CAC 40 each lost 1.1%.
