The first vaccine trial of DR Congo’s current Ebola outbreak has begun in Bunia, testing whether Ervebo protects against the Bundibugyo species. Since May, the country’s 17th and worst Ebola outbreak has caused more than 9,700 cases and 4,600 deaths and spread to four African countries.
