Karl Deisseroth, Peter Hegemann, and Georg Nagel won the 2026 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine on Monday. The Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm announced the award for their discoveries regarding light-gated ion channels and optogenetics.
