ESA’s Juice spacecraft passed 8,640 km above the Indian Ocean at 11:45 UTC on September 28, using Earth’s gravity to turn 20 degrees and gain 3.5 km/s. The maneuver required little fuel, preserving propellant for studying Jupiter’s icy moons.
