Hackers raised internet-connected refrigeration systems to as high as 50C at more than 500 French shops, spoiling food worth millions of euros and sometimes causing fires or melted equipment. E-Leclerc, Intermarche, Carrefour, Monoprix and Cooperative U were affected; authorities are investigating.
