Yemen’s government forces say nearly 500 operations killed or wounded 1,540 Houthi rebels, mainly in Taiz, within 24 hours. They also closed the al-Houban crossing, reopened to civilians in 2024 after nine years, citing infiltration attempts, nearby attacks and a military buildup.
