Residents say Eritrean soldiers crossed into northern Ethiopia and moved south from Adigrat towards clashes between the national army and Tigrayan forces. Fighting resumed two weeks ago, while TPLF troops withdrew from Mekelle, 115 km south of Adigrat, which is now under army control.
