A Florida appeals court overturned Rhonda Jewell’s convictions and 17-year sentence in the July 2023 death of 10-month-old Ariya Paige. The court found that felony murder and leaving a child unattended in a vehicle both required proof that Jewell knowingly left the baby in the hot car.
