A magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck Tibet at 10:33 p.m. on October 22, killing at least 16 people and injuring 32. More than 300 homes collapsed, while power and telecommunications were disrupted. The shallow quake’s epicentre was near Maru township, about 190 km east-northeast of Nagqu.
