Democrat Josh Turek defeated Trump-endorsed Republican Representative Ashley Hinson, flipping the seat of retiring Senator Joni Ernst. Turek, a state representative since 2023 and four-time Paralympian, will be Iowa’s first Democratic senator in more than a decade.
