South Korea will seek parliamentary approval to extend its Cheonghae anti-piracy unit’s operations to waters near Duqm, Oman, about 650km from the Strait of Hormuz. The non-combat mission will operate independently and cannot monitor Iranian territory, waters or the strait’s interior.
