Lyft agreed to pay $272.5 million to settle a 2020 California lawsuit alleging it misclassified drivers as contractors, denying them minimum wage, overtime, sick leave and other protections. The deal, covering alleged violations beginning April 6, 2016, still requires judicial approval.
