On Wednesday the European Commission proposed unblocking €4.2 billion in cohesion funding for Hungary, frozen in 2022 when the EU withheld 55% over corruption and public procurement concerns under Viktor Orbán’s government. It says Hungary has addressed rule-of-law breaches affecting the EU budget.
