China expelled a record 33 CCP officials at its fifth plenum, including Zhang Youxia and Ma Xingrui. Only 279 of the 376 full and alternate Central Committee members named in 2022 attended, leaving more than 25% absent amid Xi Jinping’s intensified purges.
