EU Trade Commissioner Maroš Šefčovič began two days of talks with China’s Commerce Minister Wang Wentao to seek concessions on the bloc’s €1 billion-a-day goods deficit. With Chinese cars accounting for one in eight EU purchases in August, Brussels wants export restraints, especially on hybrids.
