Brent crude rose 2.4% to $100.36 a barrel and US West Texas Intermediate gained 2.5% to $92.70 after Reuters reported that PetroChina had cancelled several October gasoline and jet fuel shipments to protect Chinese supplies. CNBC could not verify the report.
