US prosecutors are expected to accuse former Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, of involvement in torturing more than a dozen wrongfully detained Americans. Seized in Caracas on 3 January, they deny existing drug and weapons charges and face trial in June 2027.
