Tennessee Governor Bill Lee halted the state’s one remaining execution in 2026 and ordered an independent review after Christa Gail Pike, 50, survived two doses of pentobarbital. Pike, convicted of a killing committed at 18, was taken to hospital after Wednesday’s attempt.
