Lake Mead, the largest US reservoir, is below 27% capacity and at its lowest level since it was filled nearly 90 years ago, while Lake Powell is also at a historic low. The decline has disabled a 1970 water intake serving Las Vegas, which draws over 90% of its supply from Lake Mead.
