Computer scientist Margaret Hamilton died on 30 September aged 90, MIT confirmed. She led the team that wrote and tested Apollo 11’s onboard flight software, helping Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin land safely on the Moon, and later received the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
