A truck’s failed overtaking attempt caused a multi-vehicle collision after midnight in Salama, 90km southeast of Nairobi. A van driver and 16 passengers, mostly women travelling to a Catholic prayer site in Nakuru County, died at the scene. Kenya’s transport authority is investigating.
