At least 41 people died and 49 were rescued after a boat carrying about 100 passengers and cargo capsized on Lake Tanganyika near the Congolese village of Mapera. The vessel was travelling from Kigoma in Tanzania to Kalemie in the DRC when it sank on Thursday; a search is under way for the missing.
