Palestinian filmmaker Rakan Mayasi’s debut feature, “Yesterday the Eye Didn’t Sleep,” portrays a Bedouin community in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley. After screening in Cannes’ Un Certain Regard, the film is competing this week at the El Gouna Film Festival.
