A 2024 study by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) reveals that an estimated 2.3 million new cancer cases worldwide, or about 12%, are linked to infections and can be prevented with vaccines or treatment. IARC scientist Dr. Gary Clifford led the research.
