The Copernicus Climate Change Service reported that atmospheric water vapour reached 27.35 kg per square metre in August, a new record surpassing the previous high from July 2024 by 0.04 kg/m², equal to roughly 20 trillion extra litres of water. Scientists attribute the rise to global heating, which
