Newly discovered DNA linked former Chicago homicide detective Thomas McInerney to the 1960 abduction and fatal shooting of eight-year-old Gloria Kowalewicz. McInerney, who later worked for two federal public defender offices in Nevada, died in 2006 without being held accountable.
