Following the August Mecca Joint Defence Agreement, Turkey and Pakistan agreed in an emergency session in Riyadh to immediately deploy military forces to Saudi Arabia, uniting NATO's second-largest army, the Islamic world's only nuclear state, and the largest Gulf power.
