Teghaza 001, an 800-gram meteorite found in Mali in 2022, formed on Mars more than 4.1 billion years ago. One of only about 435 known Martian meteorites and among the three oldest, it offers a rare record of the planet’s ancient crust, volcanic minerals and interactions with water.
