At least 73 immigrants at the privately operated Folkston ICE centre in Georgia have begun a hunger strike over prolonged detention and alleged abuses. Detainees seeking release while their cases proceed cite poor medical care, threats by GEO Group guards, mouldy food and a lack of due process.
