MIT researchers develop nanoparticles to reprogram immune cells inside the body against cancer

MIT scientists led by Daniel Anderson developed fatty nanoparticles that deliver messenger RNA directly to natural killer (NK) cells inside the body. This in vivo reprogramming creates CAR NK cells to eliminate cancerous and harmful T cells without costly and complex laboratory manufacturing, offering potential treatments for cancer, lymphoma, and autoimmune hepatitis.
