If you worked a gig job (e.g. courier, driver), which would you prefer?

Lyft will pay $272.5 million because it classified its drivers as contractors instead of employees between 2016 and 2020 — after court approval, more than $237 million will be distributed among them.

  • Employee: fixed pay and protection, but less freedom
  • Contractor: more freedom, but no guaranteed income
  • Something in between that combines both
  • I wouldn't take a gig job like this at any price
