Was it fair rule enforcement or a crackdown on press freedom that Parliament barred Partizán's crew?

Hungary's Parliament press office said Partizán's crew was barred under a presidential regulation in force since June (11/2026), which requires proper NMHH classification, national coverage, and up-to-date political news on the outlet's website. Partizán's editor-in-chief said they had reported from Parliament without issue until now.

  • Fair — rules should apply equally to everyone
  • Excessive — this is really about silencing critical press
  • The rule itself is reasonable, but enforcement is politically motivated
  • Can't decide — I'd need more information
