Shift to outpatient care: How do you experience the change in the hospital?

Thank you for taking a moment. As part of my UZH internship at BINT and Evomed, I would like to understand how people in Swiss hospitals experience outpatient treatment. This refers to procedures and treatments where patients go home the same day, without staying overnight in the hospital. We are interested in your personal perspective. There are no right or wrong answers, and you do not need to l

  1. When you think about outpatient treatment in your organization, which of the following best describes how you feel at the moment?
  2. How far along is your organization overall in expanding outpatient care?
  3. Approximately how high do you estimate the share of services provided on an outpatient basis in your institution today? A rough estimate is sufficient.
  4. How strongly does outpatient care shape your daily work, i.e., your time, your processes, and your tasks?
  5. Where are the changes most noticeable?
  6. Imagine a colleague from another hospital asks you over coffee: «Is it worth deliberately expanding outpatient care now?» What would you honestly tell her?
  7. What stands most in the way of expanding outpatient care for you?
  8. What would help you most to take the next step with confidence?
  9. How well are the people who implement outpatient treatment in everyday practice involved at your organization, such as physicians, nursing, and therapy?
  10. How concrete is a project at your organization that would advance outpatient treatment in terms of construction or organization?
  11. If a concrete project is planned or envisaged, in what time frame should implementation take place?
  12. And what kind of change is planned?
  13. Are you aware of an example from abroad that Switzerland could learn from regarding outpatient treatment? If so, which one?
  14. Where will outpatient care stand in Switzerland in five years, and what will be needed by then?
  15. Almost done. Just briefly about you, so we can correctly contextualize the answers. Which sector are you viewing the topic from?
  16. And finally. What type of hospital do you work at?
