Bradley Cooper and Danny McBride G.I. Joe movie set for 2028 release by Paramount
Paramount has scheduled its reimagined "G.I. Joe" feature film for a wide theatrical release on October 20, 2028. Directed by Danny McBride, the upcoming project revives the Hasbro property, which originated as a toy line before expanding into comic books, animated series, and a trio of live-action movies. McBride is helming the picture from a screenplay he co-wrote with Jeff Fradley and John Carcieri. Bradley Cooper will star as Duke, one of the franchise's signature characters, though specific plot details remain under wraps. The film is produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Mark Vahradian, and Zev Foreman for Hasbro Entertainment.
In the same scheduling update, Paramount moved the next installment of the "Paranormal Activity" series to October 22, 2027, positioning it for the Halloween window rather than its earlier planned May 21 date. Directed by Ian Tuason, the Blumhouse Atomic and Paramount production stars Chase Yi, Sonia Mena, and Maya Da Costa. Original creator Oren Peli returns to produce for Solana Films alongside Jason Blum and James Wan for Blumhouse Atomic. The found-footage franchise began with Peli's low-budget original, which grossed nearly $194 million, and has since grown across seven films to top $900 million at the worldwide box office.
